Today's a jammy writing day. I've been in my jammers all day because I was too eager to work on my script to take the time to get dressed. Today I added some scenes I've been looking forward to: the trailer park and the fortune teller. I've been brewing these scenes in the background of my busy life for almost 2 weeks now. When I finally wrote them, they had more richness than I'd visualized. Bonus! Whenever I read over R's childhood scenes, more layers get added as I see how to develop them. Love that feeling. Love, love, love. I've now got 57 pages of script in Amazon Storyteller. Aiming for 110. After every writing session—or sometimes right after adding new scenes—I export the script to PDF. This is partly so I'll have a backup copy for safekeeping and partly so I can read it in PDF, my preferred read-through format. But, ha ha, whenever I start reading it in PDF for my own pleasure, I end up editing it in Amazon Storyteller. Oh, well. I'm enjoying myself to the moon and back so it's all good. Writing the above made me realize I haven't been backing up to my flash drive, so I stopped mid-sentence and did that. Very important. I've been filing my research in Firefox bookmarks. By now I've got more links than I'll probably ever revisit but at least I've got them all handy for later when I'll double-check the research I did on the fly. Had no idea when I started the script that I'd be developing R's parents and siblings, but that part has been so fun! The best friend started getting developed but she's been left in the dust. Will have to decide whether to keep her as the story comes back into present time for R. Okay, Boonies, that's all you get from me today. I'm chomping at the bit to get back to my script. See ya! 🤩
Just here blogging to myself about one of my passions.
